Celebrating Labor Day

We made plans to spend the last weekend of summer camping with my parents at Scenic State Park.   What an awesome way to bid summer farewell!!
All loaded up and ready!  (I think the Husband was impressed he got everything to fit into the car).

There happened to be a blue moon our first night of camping.  The photo does not do justice!

Audrey catching a ride on Grandpa's shoulders.

Our first morning!  The girls slept with us, and William slept in Mimi and Grandpa Bob's tent.  We had 2 campsites that backed onto each other...so it was like one huge campsite!

 Let's take a hike!

Our hike was up a peninsula with Coon Lake on one side and Sandwick Lake on the other side.

William was quite the hiker and led the way!

The family, dwarfed by the huge pines.

We made it!  Group shot of us at Chase Point, the destination.

 Our little family!

 Audrey...singing on her stage!

Audrey caught a ride back with Grandpa!

 Nora and Papa.

The kids kept very busy...lots of water play, because who cares about mud, dirt, and wet clothes when you're camping?!

 The Husband.  I love him!

Mimi and Bob on cooking duty!

The child with the perpetually dirty face...Nora!

William found a fuzzy caterpillar.  He was great fun for a few hours!

Then, William realized we had camping neighbors, and wandered over their campsite to "invite them over for drinks...."   My child comes back across the road with 4 adults, gets out cups and starts pouring root beer!

 "Cheers...to Kindergarten and to camping!"

 My parents---THE TREE HUGGERS!

Roasting marshmallows is serious business for this man.

Sisters, just sitting around a campfire.

Mimi and the kids playing Go Fish!

We spent the weekend under a canopy of pine trees.  It was perfect!  Thanks Mimi and Grandpa Bob for a fun weekend.
